Happy Mother’s Day! This year, my little boys gave me a wonderful gift. They gave me a few minutes of time in a park at sunset while I had my camera! I love the sweet shot of them walking together through the field, it’s truly ‘picture perfect’.. but really, my favorite shot is the one of my littlest guy dangling around his brother’s neck while he tries so hard to give him ‘just one more kiss’ because that’s what Mommy asked him to do. Big brother was finished with the kisses.. it’s perfect- it is a picture that tells the story, shows their personalities, and it will look great on a canvas on my wall :) Thanks boys!

Looking out the window, it’s hard to believe I took these pictures just last night. It sure is wet out there today! We went outside to play before dinner yesterday, and I took a few pictures of the boys playing together. There is a big age difference between my boys and while they get along wonderfully, it is sometimes hard to find things they both enjoy. This is one of them.. big brother loves to run as fast as he can pushing (in the car that was his when he was just a little guy!). Baby brother loves the ride. It’s a true win win :)

Someone gave my baby a goofball haircut.. I’m so glad that I know it will grow back soon. I do wish I could rewind, cut it myself and save the money and experience ;)

Yesterday was ‘brudders’ (brothers) birthday, so my little guy and I packed up a million cupcakes and headed to the elementary school for lunch. Passing out cupcakes, watching my monkey of a toddler, and visiting with my birthday boy didn’t leave too much time for picture taking– but I did snap this one and I love it. It’s not perfect, but it’s my boys on a special day.

I introduced my son to his pockets this morning. The possibilities were endless. As you can see, putting things in and out of his pockets required a high level of concentration, but the satisfaction was great. I wasn’t able to catch a shot showing his delight, as I was too busy clapping and celebrating with him. We also played with his car too, but this was second to the pocket fun.

My oldest son is the most thoughtful and considerate child I have ever met. For Christmas, he made me a coupon book full of “coupons” that said “20 pictures.” He told me I could trade them in any time I wanted and for each one he would pose for 20 pictures :) When your Mom is a photographer, having your picture taken gets really old– so this was a great gift for me to receive! I used one of my coupons yesterday morning while we were stuck at home because of the snow/ice.. crazy hair, jammies, chapped face and all.. I just love him!

I forgot how much fun a container of bubbles can be ;)

My last blog was “strictly business,” showing very little of my personal family pictures. As my business has grown and I’ve seen the same clients for session after session, year after year, I have built relationships and made friends. You invite me into your homes and allow me the privilege of photographing your most prized possessions, your children. For this, I am so thankful! I would like to start sharing some of my family with you on a regular basis. I’ll add these to the “personal” category :)

We took a walk this morning.. our youngest (1.5) seems to no longer walk, but he RUNS everywhere! He loves running alone and in his Daddy’s arms! I tried a different type of processing on the color image. I like it, my husband does not.. what do you think? Comment and tell me!
